Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings
Gwilliam Company’s “T” style cylindrical roller thrust bearings are designed to operate under heavy loads at moderate speeds. They consist of two flat hardened and ground steel washers with a cage retainer holding one or more hardened and ground rollers in each pocket. If applications call for two or more rollers in each pocket, longer rollers are placed in alternate positions in adjacent pockets. The overlapping roller paths prevent “grooving” of the washers and prolong bearing life.
When misalignment of the washers may be a problem, the “AT” style is used in which the bottom washer assembly consists of two washers with the contacting faces spherically ground. This configuration is self-aligning to adjust to for any misalignment.
Both of these types of bearings can be supplied in English or metric sizes.
